Zac Hoffamn (Loser Angeles) is a visual artist based in Los Angeles, CA. Using a
variety of mediums, Loser Angeles’ work features common subjects and characters
spontaneously throughout his works – which explore and emphasize what he describes as “the oddness of the ordinary.” He draws heavy influence from the absurd and non-sensical and creates work that challenges the viewer, or who he prefers to describe as “the participant” to abandon all recognition of meaning. His frequent use of bright and primary colors, bold graphics and text in his work are inspired by the primitive desire to see harmony in discord. The artist has been quoted, both eloquently and tersely in equal measure, as saying, “I think one of the strangest aspects of modern human life has to be the newfound need to broadcast their personal lives on the internet. The constant surveillance that humans provide each other leaves such little room for imagination.”
In parallel with Beirut Art Days, Août Gallery has opened Zac’s second solo show at the Gemmayzeh space to date, entitled “Let It Punch You”.
The show is live through August 17th, Monday to Saturday 10-6pm.
